• Show, Don't Tell

Lately, fast food chains have been all about touting their fries. Some, like Burger King and Jack in the Box, are re-vamping. McDonald's knows they already have a great thing. So rather than telling us about their fries, they're showing us.

    Advertisers, take note.

  • The Ad Campaign That Could Save Hermain Cain

    / Comments (0)

Think about it: having an affair with the same woman for thirteen years demonstrates a deep sense of loyalty and consistency, a quality much lacking by some of his Republican opponents.

Could Hermain Cain make his adultery, ineptitude, and lack of concern for foreign policy actually work in his favor? That, my friends, is where branding comes into play.

  • PR 180 and Obsidian to Help Memphis Non-Profits

    / Comments (0)

Obsidian PR has made it a practice to offer pro-bono public relations and consulting services to two clients every year. So this idea isn't technically brand new, but we're liking the new process.
This year, Obsidian is giving Memphis non-profits a chance to nominate themselves, thus allowing, presumably, the best candidate to win the PR work and creating a little PR for everyone involved all at the same time.
Nominations are due by December 9, and voting will be held on Obsidian's Facebook page. Read more about the contest on their website.

  • Fun & Games

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! So now you're back at work on Monday morning, looking for one more minor distraction to avoid getting back to it. How about a board game?
We stumbled across this really cool game based on logos and brands, and we thought it was right up you egotists' alley. Not to mention, an awesome Christmas present. You can play a sample of the game online, and then order it for something fun to do after Christmas dinner.
Quick note, though: it's a British game, so one or two of the brands might not be familiar. Have fun!
