We might live in a digital age, where our day-to-day work is carried out via email and conference call, but don't discount the effectiveness of the business lunch. 'Old school' doesn't always equal 'ineffective.' A lot of people shy away from the business lunch, but in this article Lori Turner-Wilson shows us how to do it right.

Not too long ago, we wrote about the Tennessee Arts Commission's contest to design a new arts license plate. The proceeds received when people buy these plates instead of the regular Tennessee plate go to supporting the TAC and, in turn, arts programs throughout the state.
Well, the time has come to vote for the new design!

The Wolf River Conservancy, with the help of SPEAK! Creative, has launched a new membership and awareness campaign, starting with a great new website. As the beauty of the Wolf River and its surrounding lands are usually what spur Memphians to get involved in its preservation, the photography-heavy site is a good call. It definitely makes us want to get out there and explore.

For all you typeface nerds out there... and right here in our office.

It may not be particularly useful, but it's cool nonetheless. See the full set by designer Ricardo Sabatini here.

"Mekkanika is a typeface inspired by old mechanics technical drawings, the steampunk visual world, and modern machinery, mixed and merged all together to form letters completely made by these elements, creating a mechanical look like typeface. All based on the letter shapes of the Din Alternate Black font."

  • A Big Red Button

POPA is an iPhone attachment that makes taking pictures much easier and enjoyable, and enhances the experience of taking pictures with your phone. In fact, it's a similar feel to a regular point and shoot camera. How do they accomplish this? A big red button.

The gadget also works with the free POPA app, which allows you to set timers, save photos, share photos on Facebook and Twitter, and send to Instagram and Camera+ apps.

Plus, it's a pretty cool commercial.

The big red button costs approximately US$80
